The Royal George in London has a long, rich tapestry that’s best told over a craft beer and a few sharing dishes, so get ready... We began as The George in 1731, being rebuilt in 1887 when Charing Cross Road was laid out – changing our address to 133 Charing Cross Road. Then, we were rebuilt again in 1977, becoming our current incarnation on Goslett Yard, 133 Charing Cross Road, named after A Goslett & Co. builders' merchants, who occupied a building nearby. And that’s not all... rewind just slightly to 25th July 1965 and renowned boxer, Freddie Mills, was found dead in his car outside the Royal George, shot through the head – to this day it is not known if it was a murder or suicide. Finally, to lighten the mood, our ukulele jam sessions are somewhat of a cult classic, drawing fans from far and wide – care to pop in for a listen?
